CAPACITY ONE

A club night that admits one person.

The night

The venue is a bedroom. Its occupant has ME/CFS and cannot leave it, so the night is built around him rather than staged for him.

The room is converted — rig, lighting, acoustic treatment, dressed by a stylist — and worked by a door, a resident and a booked guest. He is lying down throughout and does not stand at any point.

The capacity is one. The door policy is written by a diagnosis rather than a fire marshal.

The body is the clock

The tempo is not chosen. It is taken live from his heart rate, read at the wrist and written to a public ledger as it happens. Both DJs run slaved to that clock — one kick per beat, the music above it at double and quadruple time.

Nobody in the room sets the BPM. Not the DJs, and not him. It is arrived at by an organ that is not being asked.

The condition brings orthostatic intolerance, so the rate climbs on any change of posture. The room speeds up when he sits up. When the body slows, the room slows. When the body ends the night, the night ends.

The apparatus underneath

The night runs on wristnode: a passive oracle that reads the body from the wrist and writes what it finds to Solana without opinion. It does not score, smooth, average, congratulate or advise. Where two instruments are worn together, the gap between them is measured and labelled — and the raw reading is never overwritten.

Solana. Today on the development network — public and verifiable, but a test chain. It moves to the main chain before the door opens. Said here so nobody has to discover it.

The sound

Twenty minutes. Scenecore, digicore, hexD. Maximal, fast, and made almost entirely by and for people whose social lives happen online rather than in rooms. It is played first because it is the last twenty minutes the body can take at that intensity.

Then the rest. New-wave dub techno locked to the heart at 50–70 BPM, drifting, for as long as the body holds it.

The second half of this night is too slow to be played anywhere. Not slow as a mood — slow because the body it came from is running at 58.

Everyone else is outside

There is one person in the room and there will never be more, so everything the night gives, it gives to people who cannot get in.

The stream is free and open: continuous, unpolished, chat visible, nothing cut, no highlight reel and no thumbnail chosen for its best moment. There is no paywall and no ticket.

It is addressed to people with ME/CFS and long COVID — around a quarter of ME/CFS cases are severe enough to be housebound or bedbound. They are not being asked to come out. Nothing on screen tells anyone to get better.

The door token

$SCHIZ14 is the door token for a club night with a capacity of one.

The venue is a bedroom. Its occupant has ME/CFS and is lying down. The night is streamed. The tempo follows his live heart rate, so the room slows when the body slows — the set is not performed at the room, it is emitted by the body in it.

Holding the coin is how a witness attends.

What sits underneath it

The night is not a separate work. It sits on top of wristnode, which has been running for months: a passive oracle that reads the body from the wrist and writes what it finds to Solana. The chain holds the reading exactly as it was measured. Nothing is smoothed, nothing is scored, and nothing is congratulated. A correction is applied only where two instruments have been worn together long enough to establish the gap between them, and even then the raw testimony is never overwritten — the corrected value carries a label saying so.

That is the whole apparatus: a body that cannot perform, still emitting signal, and a ledger that agrees to hold it.

$SCHIZ14 is what happens when that ledger opens a door.

Admission

The coin is the door. There is one room and one occupant, so admission is not scarce in the way a venue is scarce — it is scarce in the way attention is. A witness who holds the coin is admitted to the night: the stream, the tempo, and the record the night leaves behind on the chain.

The coin is a Solana token. Its identity is its contract address, published here on launch day and never afterwards changed. Tickers are not unique on Solana and anything can call itself SCHIZ14; the address is the only thing that means anything.

What it is not

It is an art object, not an investment.

It promises no value. It returns nothing. There is no treasury, no revenue share, no roadmap, no phase two, no plan to make it worth more than it is. If you are looking for an asset, this is not one, and nothing here will pretend otherwise.

It admits you to the night. Nothing further is offered.

EGREGORE

A collective of one. Four heteronyms — invented people with written histories, set down before anyone was hired. On the night each is executed by a paid professional who works under the name and is credited under it.

A collective assembled any other way would have required him to leave the room.
